When I get rejected I look at my alternatives. Try to do better or give up. And each time I do this, I know I have to keep going. There is no chance of being published if I don't try to improve and work harder. And I try different things too. Like now I'm working on a historical fiction novel for middle grade. Something I never thought I'd do. And I will always think about picture books, my favourites. Deep down I know that writing is my favourite hobby, I guess I can call it that. So I have to keep going otherwise I'll end up just doing housework or take up basket weaving (which might be nice). Look forward to following your journey.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4952859744296337410.post-32398305485788944622011-12-09T19:26:02.586+11:002011-12-09T19:26:02.586+11:00Hi Kaye,

Rejections I know are just part of becoming an author and the harder I try-(mail out manuscripts) the more that come back home. I was recently given a glimmer of hope and my MS stayed with a sole publisher for over 12months. Then the rejection came back amongst the Christmas cards. I was gutted. Why make me wait for 12 months? Ahhh!<br />You're right it's all timing.
